About Hyde Parish

Hyde Parish lies at the southernmost border of Central Bedfordshire with Luton to the north and Harpenden to the south.

Hyde is the largest parish by area in Central Bedfordshire, but has the smallest number of parishioners. Both Luton Hoo Estate and the Luton Hoo Hotel reside within the Parish.

About the council

The Parish Council meet first Tuesday every other month (January, March, May, July, September and November) at 7:30pm at East Hyde Village Hall. Residents of Hyde are welcome to attend the meetings.

East Hyde Village Hall

The attractive East Hyde Village Hall is situated on the Lower Harpenden Road (B653) at East Hyde (next to the Holy Trinity Church). The hall, overlooked by  farmland to the rear is available for hire. It boasts excellent facilities, including:

  • Capacity for 90 people
  • Car parking
  • Disabled facilities
  • Modern children’s play area
  • Fully equipped kitchen

Highways Issues

Central Bedfordshire Council have developed an online system for reporting problems with highways from potholes to overgrown verges. If you are unhappy with any part of the highway within the parish you can report it directly and then follow its progress by using the attached link.
